The Pella Christian High School girls’ basketball team’s 2020-21 season came to an abrupt end Friday night in the Class 2A Region 3 semifinals at West Branch High School.
The Eagles and Bears were tied 12-all at the end of the first quarter, but PCHS pulled out a 1-point lead at halftime, 22-21. They continued to hold the lead through much of the third quarter, with their margin extended to 32-30 with just 8 minutes left to play. But a fourth-quarter collapse doomed their hopes of knocking of the region’s top seed.
West Branch won by a final score of 41-37.
