The Pella Christian High School boys’ basketball team rolled past Cardinal High School of Eldon on Thursday night, advancing to the Class 2A District 11 championship game.
The game got off to a slow start for both teams, with the Eagles taking just a 10-6 lead after the first 8 minutes of play. But, they exploded for 28 points in the second quarter, taking a 38-23 lead into halftime. Cardinal came back in the third frame, cutting the PCHS lead to just 54-44, but that was all the closer they would get.
The Eagles’ final margin of victory was 76-58.
