The annual collection of used living Christmas trees will begin this week in Pella.
Trees placed on the curbside of residences within the city limits will be collected after 7 a.m. on each of the next three Wednesdays (Jan. 6, 13, and 20). According to the Public Works Department, trees must be unwrapped and free of the following:
- Plastic bags
- Wires
- Nails
- Stands
Wreaths and roping with wire will be collected as regular household waste only if they are placed within the residence’s garbage tote. For more information, call the Public Works Department offices at (641) 628-1601.
